If you have learned nothing prior to taking college classes (or being college age) I am shocked. Everyone has learned something. And almost all that you have learned can be imported into a test and count as college credit.
- Have you been on a missions trip to Mexico or Germany? CLEP Spanish or German.
- Have you worked around computers your whole life and run the family business? CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications.
- Are you fascinated with the Civil War, Vietnam, or the Soviet Union? There are DANTES exams for all of those.
- Have you worked with your Dad for awhile? Take the business DANTES exam.
- Done with highschool level math and science? CLEPs are available.
- Western Civ. or American History up your alley? Take some CLEPs or DANTES
- Have you done Debate through highschool? The public speaking DANTES exam is available.
- Are you a musician? Excelsior college has a music exam for college credit.
There are many, many more CLEPs, DANTES, and Excelsior exams available. Visit the links below to read more about Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
