Yesterday, during my research time, I did a little background check into the cost per credit for courses I will need to take to finish my degree. For most college courses you get 3 college credits upon completion. When you enroll to take a class, you pay a fee, otherwise known as the “cost per credit”.
I surveyed 6 colleges. I scoured their websites, chatted with the PR department, and emailed them!!! I was finally able to collect the following chart (it might prove helpful to you as well).
- Charter Oak – $310 per credit
- Excelsior – $355 per credit
- Thomas Edison – $212 per credit
- Ohio University – $168 per credit
- Local community college – $138 per credit
- Strayer University – $550 per credit
Overall, I’m going to be looking into Ohio University for most of my courses. Obviously the community college is a little cheaper, but it is not online.
