When should you take the College Comp CLEP? Should you take it at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of your studies?
If English is not your love, and you tend to dread writing and grammar, you tend to avoid tests called College Comp with 2 Essays. (things like that give you nightmares, right?) Typically, you will lean towards putting this test off until then end.
As a matter of fact, the majority of students will put this off until the end. But, is that a wise decision? Here are some things to consider as you make your choice.
- It will take 3-4 weeks after taking the test before you find out your score. If you fail the test (not that you will, but if you did) you have to wait another 6 months before re-taking the test. That will set your degree back a lot if you wait to take this test until the end.
- This CLEP is so different from the other tests, that it would probably be hard to switch from the typical format to the composition format. I enjoyed starting with this CLEP, and then jumping into the others.
- As overwhelming as this test sounds, it is manageable. I really believe that, if you set your mind to it, you can pass the CLEP. Go for it!
I hope this helps you make some decision of when to take the College Comp CLEP.
