Answer: Hi, my name is Michael Boyd. I’m 19 years old and I live in Alabama. I am the 3rd born of nine children. Some of my hobbies are working out, playing sports with friends, and watching SEC football games! Yay!! Well, really any football!
Have you graduated from college?
Answer: No. I’m a freshman at Jefferson State Community College and my major is Business Management.
Did/are you earning a degree through Distance Learning?
Answer: Not at this time.
Which CLEP exams have you taken?
Answer: I’ve taken College Algebra, US. History 1, Biology, and Psychology so far. Unfortunately I didn’t pass the Biology CLEP, so I’ll have to take it again. 🙁
What was your main reason for taking the CLEP exam instead of the course?
Answer: It’s way cheaper than having to pay for the course. Also, you can save a lot of time by taking the CLEP exams and spend more time on upper level courses.
Which CLEP is your favorite (to date)?
Answer: The History CLEP definitely.
On which CLEP have you scored the highest?
Answer: History. I scored a 62.
Do you have a humorous, bad, or interesting test memory?
Answer: Well, there have been a couple of times when I’ve been freaked out about accidentally clicking on the “cancel your score” button after you’ve finished the exam, but thankfully that’s never happened. That would be bad…
What is your favorite resource to use for test prep and study?
Answer: InstantCert. It’s a great online program that’s designed to help people pass their CLEP exams as quickly as possible. I definitely recommend it. I also use the REA and Peterson’s practice tests as well.
How many hours a day did/do you typically devote to test prep?
Answer: I’m not exactly sure. Probably on average 3 hours.
Would you recommend testing out of college classes exams to anyone? Why or why not?
Answer: Yes. Like I said earlier, it’s cheaper than paying for the course and you save time. I think it’s a great way to get ahead and graduate quicker. Then you can start your career sooner.
How do you plan to implement your degree into your life, after graduation?
Answer: I’m not quite sure right now, but I would love to continue to learn how business works and I might one day own my own business.
