Here is the promised post! The overview of my first failed CLEP… hopefully some of this information will help you.
God Reigns
Before we being, let me restate… God reigns and He gets my praise whether I pass or fail. However aggravating or frustrating it is to walk out of a test with no credits, I lean on the assurance that God is steering my steps and He is in control.
Hidden Outcome
I went into this CLEP not knowing what the outcome would be. My practice exam scores had been jumping all over the place: 47, 62, 54, and 49! I walked into taking this exam knowing I could pass it, and yet not knowing if I would. Ironically I have taken 3 other exams thinking I would fail, only to pass! In my experience the actual exam is easier than the practice exams, not so with this one!
I enjoyed studying Macroeconomics, really I did, but this was the hardest test I have ever studied for. That is just my opinion, but worth taking into consideration.
Subjects
I agreed, the day I took my test, to not divulge any questions that appear on the test, but let me just say… You need lots of practice on interest rates. Anything to do with interest rates.
Other than that, I would highly recommend using materials for the AP Macroeconomics exam. I got some resources from my library (too late for the actual test), and I really thought they were helpful. In a lot of ways the AP can be harder (per say) because the topics are covered in depth – very deep depth! – and being able to ace the AP practice tests will help a lot towards the CLEP.
