Meet the Test: Social Sciences and History CLEP

Governments and Quadratic Equations

Governments and Quadratic Equations

March is a month of orange and green.  Green is the color of the Catholic saint, Patrick, while orange is traditionally the color of the Protestants.  Putting aside the clover, charms, rainbows, and little green men, we’re going to focus on two tests in the month of March. Studying for the Social Science and History CLEP and working through the ALEKs College Algebra course. I plan on creating blog posts with practice test suggestions, recommended reading, my thoughts on these…

With a few exceptions, because literature is my favorite subject, I took all 5 of the General CLEP exams before I moved on.  I personally, think that every distance student (and many students headed to a brick and mortar building) would do best if they would start with these 5 CLEPS.  And I know the perfect test prep guide for them! Why you should take the 5 General CLEPs! They are highschool subjects – history, math, science, english – you…

Score Reflections

Score Reflections

My last two CLEP exams have been the Social Sciences and History CLEP ( I scored a 51) and the Humanities CLEP (I scored a 55).  I walked away from both relieved and slightly disappointed.  I was frustrated that after practice tests with REALLY great scores, I had scores that looked like I had just scraped by. It’s just a score… True.  And, because it’s a CLEP and based on Pass/Fail, no one has to know my score I could…

By God's Grace… I squeaked by!

By God's Grace… I squeaked by!

If the Lord had asked me what score (between 50 and 80) I would have like to make on Social Sciences and History, I would probably not have picked a 52.   But… I’ll take it all the same!!!   I made a 52 yesterday, and I’m done with all things Social, Science, and History.  (at least as CLEPs go!)

24 Hours… means what?

24 Hours… means what?

In the past 24 hours I have taken three practice tests and scored: 71 (CollegeBoard) 46 (REA) 58 (Princeton Review) Care to find a common thread, and tell me what tomorrow holds?  This is the first test that I have NOT a clue how I will do.

I'm Still Here!

I'm Still Here!

I’m sorry for leaving my blog quiet for so long!  I’m working on several blog posts right now that I hope to get up soon. For now, please pray for me tomorrow as I take Social Sciences and History at 10:00.  I really want to be done with this test so badly, but I have to put my desires into the Lord’s hands and trust Him. I’ll let you know what happens tomorrow.
